dance open Gala
Duration: 2.5 hours with one intermission

Dance Open Gala is the festival’s key event — a moment when, for a few hours, the world of ballet becomes unified and fully visible. The stage of the Alexandrinsky Theatre turns into a laboratory of taste, where the most compelling choreographic ideas of today are tested, juxtaposed, and brought into dialogue. Here, in a single evening, audiences encounter an exceptionally vivid and diverse palette of dance.

Even now, when travel has become more complex and meetings rarer, we curate the Gala program as a personal, author’s selection — free of compromise and ranking logic. Only works we consider exemplary, daring, or defining new artistic tendencies are included. The result is a choreographic "treasure map" for those who wish to understand where world ballet is heading.
