Ballet Galas held within Lithuanian presidency of the European Union

National Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Lithuania is welcoming the world ballet stars in Vilnius on November 18-19, 2013 in two fabulous ballet galas with the participation of the outstanding Russian dancers – the principals of the Bolshoi, the Mariinsky and Mikhailovsky theatres as well as the stars of the Lithuanian ballet.

This year there will be exquisite diversity of dance pieces: pas de deux from the ballet “Esmeralda” performed by the brilliant duet from the Bolshoi Anastasia Stashkevich and the principal of the theatre Mikhail Lobukhin; pas de deux from the ballet “Les Corsair” performed by the gorgeous ballet couple Anastasia and Denis Matvienko (the guest principal of the Mariinsky Theatre) up to the expressive “Cello” by Nacho Duato, performed by the soloists of the Mikhailovsky theatre Sabina Yapparova and Marat Shemiunov. Part of the programme is kept in secret by the organizers of the gala – it will be a delicate surprise for the audience.

Combination of the classical dance and modern choreography in one concert is an implicit advantage of this gala-evening, where the ballet lovers will have a chance to study closely the art of several talanted dancers acting today on the best world ballet stages.

Galas will take place as a part of the Presidency of Lithuanina in the European Union. Joined efforts of the organizers assigned to preserve the traditions of cultural exchange between Lithuania and Russia – it’s a possibility to keep and develop fine cultural traditions which have always existed between Russia and Lithuania and were primarely based on the human values having no borders.
