Nataliya Makarova – The Chairman of juri!

The famous ballerina Nataliya Makarova became the Chairman of juri of the First Saint-Petersburg International ballet award «DANCE OPEN». Festival «DANCE OPEN» for the first time in history establishes the professional Award which becomes event in the ballet world.

On April, 2nd, 2010 before spectators at gala concert in the Big Concert Hall "Octyabrsky" the actors nominated for the St.-Petersburg award of ballet "DANCE OPEN" and after that in the Marble hall of the Ethnographic museum there will pass ceremony of delivery of awards will act. Winners will be defined by competent jury where the most authoritative figures of a world choreography will enter.

Nataliya Makarova - a live legend of the Russian ballet school, in the XX-th century has been recognised by one of the greatest ballerinas of the world. In the beginning 60, having interrupted the career in Mariinsky theatre, she becomes «not to come back» and after tours of the Kirov theatre remains in London.

She worked in “American Ballet Theatre”. Here she become famous in a role of Zhizel, and Dzherom Robbins has put for her pas de deux «Other dances» (The Other Dances, on Chopin music, 1976). In 1980 she has carried out at this theatre statement of ballet of M.Petipa "Bayadere" (L.Minkusa's music) where separate scenes has composed. Acted also in a Broadway musical «On your toes». After disintegration of Soviet Union has visited Russia, her farewell performance has taken place in the Maryinsky Theater where she has acted in ballet of J. Kranko "Onegin".
