Fourth Jubilee Night: DEDICATION TO VAKHTANG CHABUKIANI
There will be performed pas-de-deuxs from the ballets that made Vakhtang Chabukiani famous: Grand pas from La Bayadere (2nd act, male variation choreographed by Chabukiani), pas-de-deux from the Flame of Paris, Gopak from Taras Bulba, pas-de-deux from Giselle, and of course the favorites of Vakhtang Chabukiani –pas-de-deux from Don Quixote and Le Corsaire; as well as excerpts from Otello, The Heart of the Hills, and Melody set toGluck music and choreographed by Chabukiani. There will be used video chronicles of Gosfilmfond (State Film Fund) and rare photographs. |

Program dedicated to Vakhtang Chabukiani can be for convenience called a night of male dance full of drama, plasticity, expressiveness, spirituality …Being a partner of a ballerina is not the only function of a male dancer.
In many classical ballets male variations were choreographed by Vakhtang Chabukiani, his talent revived and refreshed classical ballet, attracted attention to the male dance.
